Comedians with a finger on the social pulse
Everything is better in 3's. For generations, iconic trios have shaped and re-defined the media landscape: The 3 Stooges, Charlie’s Angels, Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Jonas Brothers. And in the advertising world, The Writers Table.
Besides being hilarious, sexy, adorably annoying rock stars? That in a short time we’ve used our diverse backgrounds and strikingly different points of view to come together and establish a recognizable tone and brand that consumers can not only enjoy, but identify with and see themselves in.
We pitch our ideas to a new crowd nightly, and hone our unique tone to suit their tastes without compromising our point of view on the spot. We are in constant connection with consumers, which helps keep us on our toes, and our fingers on the pulse of what’s topical, cool, and relevant. We’re sharp, quick, witty, determined, and most importantly, funny. We’re constantly chasing what gets a laugh, and we’re not afraid to fall on our faces in pursuit of it. Our outgoing personalities, high energy, and performing background have made us an asset to have as presenters during pitches.
We started off working as content generators, given the first pass at producing innovative and hilarious concepts and ideas for new clients or new pitches. After our first assignment led to the creation of a viral campaign, we were given more opportunities to work consistently with bigger accounts. Together, the 3 of us have been responsible for developing major commercials, radio spots, social copy, and more.
Spencer Hodges
Is a stage, TV, commercial, and voiceover actress, writer, improviser, sketch comedian, saleswoman, and freelance copywriter based in Chicago . She hopes that simply listing all of these jobs and skill sets will make her feel better about the fact that she needs this many jobs to survive in this economy! As a Second City Conservatory graduate, Bob Curry Fellow, Black Excellence cast member/writer, she puts her skills to use performing all over Chicago at LSI, iO, Second City, Bug House, and The Annoyance. Whenever she’s not creating you can catch her getting her 10K steps in at the lakefront or teaching her parents how to use basic technology like their Amazon Firestick.
Tim Lyons
Is a writer, actor, and comedian hailing from Chicago, but has performed all over these United States! He was flown to NYC to audition for SNL, has been nominated for best actor at Best of the Midwest, and you can see him more recently as Scott Foley's bumbling assistant on FOX's The Big Leap. You can also listen to him on his Top 40 improv podcast Improv is Dead. He fell into copywriting the same way everyone else does, by performing 5 minutes of written solo material in front of 3 people in a small office space. He follows the general principle of writing what you know and therefore a lot his stuff revolves around overcoming a fear of spiders and taking too many trips to Costco.
Squeek Rangel
Is a musical improviser, voice actor, writer, and performer with a Bob Curry (NBC studios) and DiOversity (iO) scholarship on the résumé and her next audition on the brain. You're just as likely to see her on TV (Work in Progress, The Big Leap) or in a commercial (International Delight, Rocket Lawyer) as you are to catch her on the soccer field, at a Ghibli movie screening, or organizing a highly cultured and classic movie marathon/for-fun live read with friends...Say it...out loud. Twilight. Give her a shout if you want a role in the next get-together.
